Grupo Bakkan, a salsa band in the San Francisco Bay Area, was formed with the ambition to fuse Latin American and Caribbean sounds to create a fresh, original style of salsa music. The band (whose current members represent several different countries including the USA, Cuba and Peru) performed live in the Bay Area as “Toni Nieto y Su Orquesta” before settling on the name of Grupo Bakkan.
